AXIS BANK LIMITED

Nov 2012 - Present

I have extensive experience across Retail, Wholesale, Product Management, and Digital Transformation at Axis Bank. I have spent considerable time in assets and liabilities side of business. I am one of the few in the banking industry who has worked across the trifecta of Current Accounts, Accounts, and Term Deposits. On the wholesale side, I have worked on both Cash Management Services and Trade Finance. My journey reflects a commitment to diversity and I understand all aspects of banking well. Axis Bank has provided me with opportunities to grow. In my most recent assignment, I am heading the Digital Wholesale Banking Transformation, internally labeled as Project neo.

CAPITAL MARKET RELATED LENDING

August 2008 - Nov 2012

Worked as a business analyst first and then as a product manager in capital market related lending products - LAS, MTF, Promoter Financing, ESOP financing, IPO financing. These roles were at ILFS Investmart (later HSBC InvestDirect) and Aditya Birla Financial Services Group.

TATA CONSULTANCY SERVICES

May 2006 - August 2008

This was campus placement. Worked as a functional consultant for one of India's largest online brokerage house HDFC Securities. Specialized in solutioning for backend trade clearing and settlement software that TCS developed and maintained for HDFC Securities.

FACULTY OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES, M.S. UNIVERSITY

June 2004 - May 2006

Masters of Business Administration specialized in Finance. As a student of finance was fascinated with capital markets possibly because of the wide array of exposure it offers in multiple industries. Made my first stock market investment around these times. I still continue to hold of those investments.

BACHELOR OF ENGINEERING

June 2000 - May 2004

B.E with specialization in Electronics and Communication. While engineering taught me a lot it was not something I enjoyed in particular. Even as an engineering student, it was business and economics that fascinated me.

Life's short outside work and academics. In whatever little time I get outside work, I try to learn more about -

  • History

  • Photography

  • Juggling

  • Parenting

  • Blackjack

Jointly with my wife I also run a side gig called "Maidly". Maidly is an attempt to solve for some of deep friction points faced while hiring a new house help. As parents to our 1 year old in a nuclear family, we learned this the hard way.
